Christmas Is Here

I can't believe Christmas is already here. It has gone by way to fast, but I am ready and looking forward to Christmas day!!!!

Brayden sure has loved Christmas this year and is so excited. He loves to wear this Santa Hat and Elf Hat (for those that know were the elf hat came form, he only saw the hat, the other part was disposed of before he saw it.) and the other day when his cousin Brinton was over he dressed him and Kate up and came marching out. It was pretty cute. Kate wizard hat was one he had made at school. Not really Christmas, but he found a hat for her too.

We have seen Santa a few times, but Kate would never sit on his lap. This was at her school party and she finally did it so I could get a picture. Brayden wants a Nintendo DS and Kate wants Princess, Surprise, Surprise.

Snow Day

Although snow isn't our favorite thing, we do have fun in it every once in awhile.

Today we had a Bishop get together with all of Scott's Cousins. We eat yummy soups and went sledding. The kids had a blast and I think the Dad's had just as much fun build jumps for the kids.
I took this pictures a few days ago when it snowed. Kate went out and helped Scott push snow. It didn't last long, it was as she would say"colding".

Brayden's Not So Happy 6th B-day

Brayden turned 6 on Dec 16th. His days started by him waking at 5:00 in the morning vomiting and he didn't stop until I put him to bed that night. Poor guy, we had to cancel his party and he was soooo sad. He kept saying to me "Mom I promise I will be good and not throw up." It was hard to explain to him he was being good and that he or I couldn't control him being sick. Scott and I also didn't feel to good that day, so we all just laid around. He did get a lot of phone calls from people and Grandpa and Grandma Bishop stopped by, so that did brighten his day. That next day he was fine. So we celebrated.
Meet the newest member of our family. Spike Boomerang Bishop. Bryaden named him all by himself. He is Brayden's pet turtle. This year we let him pick out a pet for his B-day. (It's hard to pick out more toys for him, since it's so close to Christmas). It was a hard decision, he wanted a bird, lizard or turtle. A turtle it was and Scott and I should have done the research before buying it. After we got it home and got everything set up we read that the water should be in the tank 24 hours before placing the turtle in it. oops. We put him in any way and he is still alive, so that is a good sign and Brayden loves to watching/feed him.

A few nights before his B-day I went up stairs and he was making games to play at his party. The problem was we weren't having a party, I felt bad so I invited his cousins to come play his games. That's the party we canceled, but they were all good sports and came on Wed night and played his games. He called this one "pin the nose on the face."

This was a dodge ball game he made up with his own rules, basically girls against boys and no one got out.

I let him decorate his cake this year. He had a lot of fun!!!

Happy Halloween

WHAT A LONG DAY!!! I got the kids dressed in their costumes early this morning and went to party after party after party. It was FUN!!!! But I am glad it's over.

Kate was a princess (of coarse, since that is all she thinks about). Brayden was Bumble Bee the Transformer.

Here is Brayden in full costume. He got in his costume around 9:30 in the morning and I had him go to the bathroom before putting it on. He was in the costume all day and at 7:30 at night he came to me and said, "Mom, can I please take my costume off, I really need to go to the bathroom. I haven't gone all day, cause I couldn't get my costume off." I felt a little bad, poor kid.

What the HECK!!! Yes , that is Scott and I. Two nerds in LOVE!!!
We weren't going to dress up this year, but we had a ward party and decided at the last minute to........ and this is what we came up with!!!!

Here's Kate at her school Carnival, we invite Brinton and Ryder (he wouldn't let me get a picture of him) to come with us. How cute a knight and a princess together!!!!

Pumpkins

So Kate had to take a pumpkin to school to decorate. The only one we had was the one Brayden picked out at the pumpkin patch and I didn't want to go to the store. Brayden was at school and I was thinking "he'll never know", so we took it to school. Kate had so much fun decorating it. It was suppose to be a monster with lots of purple spots everywhere, but she just kept sticking the purple circles on top of each other, so it looked like a big mole. She was very proud it. When Brayden got home from school she showed him and WELLL..... Major drama began!!!! He recognized his pumpkin, got mad and took everything off. Kate was sad, Brayden got in trouble and things did not end well!!! MY BAD.
A week later we craved pumpkins at Mary and Loren's house, things went a lot better and both kids were happy. Kate's is the little one (Scott craved it) , Brayden's is the bigger one and he did it mostly by himself!!! He really enjoyed it!!!

In fact, because Grandpa Kendall brought us extra pumpkins, Brayden craved a pumpkin everyday after school. I think he just liked the idea that he was allowed to use a knife.

Temple Square

We always go to Temple Square in Dec. to see the lights and its sooooo cold and crowded that we don't even enjoy it. All we can think or care about is getting hot chocolate afterwards. Brayden didn't have school on Monday and we needed to get out of the house, so we decided to do something different and take traxs to Temple Square. We originally were going to meet Loren for lunch, but he wasn't available so we just went anyway and enjoyed ourselves. The kids loved it and it was soooo nice, no crowds, weather was good and we got to see/ hear lots of neat things.

I wanted to get a picture of the kids standing next to the statue of Christ, so that I could print it off and display it in their rooms. Well, Kate was scared of Christ and would just bury her head in Scott's shoulder. She would just day "scare you, scare you". Brayden was shy, cause their were other people around and wouldn't get off the bench. Soo, no picture there, but they did pose here for a picture. Little stinkers!!

I didn't even know this was there (I don't know if its new or just when we have been there before its to crowded). But it's the city of Jerusalem and when you push the button it tells you were different places were. Scott found it really interesting, the kids just LOVED pushed the buttons for fun. (Yes, I think Kate is picking her nose in the picture.)

This the city, whoever built it was amazing and very patient.

Kate got a little crazy, so I had her sit on the couch. When I sat her down she said CHEESE, so I took her picture. (She's so weird sometimes)

This is them on the roof of the conference center. This was the first time we had been there.

Here is Brayden ready to board the train(traxs, we called it a train - it sounded cooler). He was so excited to ride the train and loved every minute of it.

Fishing

Brayden's is on fall break (UEA), we couldn't go any place cause I had to work, so we had to think of things to entertain him around here. Scott had taken the scouts fishing earlier this week and thought it would be fun to take the kids fishing. We went to a fishing pond that is pretty close to our house and the kids had a good time.

We were successful!!! Brayden was pretty proud of his fish.

All the kids catch at least one fish, if not more. It was so fun to see there excitement about the fish they caught

And the fun part, gutting the fish. Scott got the pleasure and the kids liked to watch. Kate was so tired so would just lay on Scott's back. She has become quite the Daddy's girl lately.

Later that night they had a BBQ and cooked the fish. I had to go to work. Darn it :) - I didn't get to eat the fish (I don't really love to eat things I see dead), but I was told that I missed out, that they tasted really good.

HEE HAW

Brayden and Kate both got to go on a field trip with there schools to Hee Haws. It's a farm/corn maze/ pumpkin patch/hay ride/outdoor activities - fun.

Brayden was so excited to go on a field trip, I went with them and this was the group I was in charge of. The boys were very good, but after 2 hours I was ready to be done.
This is the famous pig there. It weighs 1,200 lbs. He's name is Leroy.

A week later I went with Kate and her class. This time we didn't stay as long!! She loved the hay trampoline.
And petting the animals, especially the baby pigs

Our Little Fish

The kids just finished swimming lessons. I know you usually do those in the summer time, but I was too lazy and didn't want to go early everyday. We have a lady (Sheila Morrison) in our ward and she does private lessons so I signed the kids up with her. Bradyen did awesome!! He had self taught himself (since we love the pool in the summer) and began at a level 2 and passed level 2 and most of level 3. His teacher couldn't believe he hadn't had lessons before and called him a little fish. He takes after his dad.

We have a few weeks off and then will start again, I am hoping to have him ready for swim team in the summer.
Kate on the other hand.... Loves the water, hates to be told what to do,.... would rather play in the bath tube with her goggles.

Look Who Has Undies

And she has to wear them ALL at the same time!!

I wouldn't put them on for her, so she showed me!!

Potty Training has started, I am not motivated at all. But she wants to use the big toilet, loves her Princess underwear, won't keep a diaper on, hates to have her diaper changed and started having red bum again,..... so we are trying the big toilet. Wish us luck, I hate potty training!!!

Help Me Decide

We had Jessi take our pictures a few weeks ago, some of you saw the pictures on her blog and wondered if Scott was there. Well, he was for a short amount of time. Scott doesn't love family pictures and every year there is a story. This year he scheduled a trip to Wyoming the day of pictures and was late and then had to go to young men's. We did get some good ones though, I just can't decide what one to blow up to a 16x20.........

It's In His Gene's

So, you know how we joke about Scott being a little like his dad. Well, here's the proof. Yesterday Scott was telling me we needed to buy a new trampoline and a soccer goal. A few hours later I went out side and he was....................

Building a soccer goal!!! Out of our old swing that was on the trailer, ready to go to the dump and some kind of mesh stuff from an construction site.
There they are enjoy our FREE, HOMEMADE soccer goal!!! What a creative husband I have!!!
